The “Partnership for Safe Water” is being cooperatively developed by AMWA, AWWA, ASSARF, ASDWA, U.S. EPA, and NAWC. The purpose of the Partnership is to encourage U.S. water supliers to survey their utilities to “identify areas that will enhance the water system’s ability to prevent entry of Cryptosporidium, Giardia, and other microbial contaminants into treated water and to voluntarily implement those actions that are appropriate for the system.” Voluntary participation will indicate a commitment by the utility to provide the best possible treatment, focused particularly on pathogen reduction.
In 2013 the Pike Township Municipal Authority went above and beyond the compliance standards set for safe drinking water. These additional efforts earned us the prestigious Partnership For Safe Water Directors Award.
